I don't write much on my journal, I'm afraid I don't know what to talk about often, and I prefer to interact with comments and already started discussions.
I'm not a big "thread starter" I guess.
Summary of last months...
Anyway, a little summary of last months of my life if someone is interested!
I've changed city, following my wife job (since I'm freelance I work only online and I only need a decent internet connection to continue my work) we moved to Castelfiorentino, in Tuscany, between Firenze and Siena. Is not the most beautiful town around here, but it's also because Tuscany is so beautiful and full of nature that there are a LOT of VERY beautiful towns around that make Castelfiorentino seem too much "industrial". But it has good views too, and coming from Torin (were I'v been born and lived all my life), an architecturally very beautiful city but also a full industrial metropoly were the air stinks of "modernity" everywere, it's a nice change for me. I'm probably the more rural and lone wolf guy than a true metropolitan citizen, and I like to wake up and dress with a gym suit to walk in the country just outside my house, hearing birds singing instead of cars sounding klaxons. Going to the local market in a sun bathed and windy day, is a pleasure I forgot in the city, were going to the market was more like moving in a melass of people and watching out for thiefs putting their hands in your vallett.
Work work and work...
Regarding games, I'm working a lot on several projects also for little american publishers (damn dollar-euro conversion makes me loose a lot in the trade
I've also published my first game as a game designer!!!
But unfortunately I've not got to make also the graphics for the game! I have to say it every time, since it's hard to understand why, I've not understood it too, but some publishers say "if you are the game designer you could not be also the graphic designer and viceversa". To hell I say... the result is a well designed game that get good critics for gameplay and ideas, but some harsh critics for graphic/presentation flaws. Here you can see the game anyway, it have nice mechanics if you like "german" type games (also called "eurogames")with no luck factor but with a little more player interaction and little "dead times": [link]
I would have liked to make the graphics for it, but I'm glad it got published anyway and warmely received by gamers.
I could have another game published next year, less "german" and more about space battles...if you go in my "Sci-fi" folder you can see what I talk about: SPACE COMMANDER!
This time with my graphics or to the hell with the publishers!
Here you can see some of it: [link]
But even if I like creating games, I like more to create art... and will try to do much more illustrations this year, and to beef up my gallery for the enjoyment of who likes my art!
Hear from me again... not too far away in time I hope! ^_^
